New Hope in halt for New Acland ruling
New Hope shares have been placed in a trading halt as the coal miner awaits the results of a protesters' appeal against a long-planned Queensland mine.
The ASX-listed company says it expects the Queensland Court of Appeal on Tuesday to rule on the appeal against the Supreme Court's decision to allow the third stage of its New Acland mine on the Darling Downs, near Toowoomba.
"The trading halt is requested ... pending the release of the court's judgment and an announcement to the market regarding the company's position on it," New Hope said in a statement.
