The Morgans Foundation is launching its second drought relief campaign to raise money for the Australian families and rural communities continuing to suffer from the ongoing drought.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Big Dry Friday campaign today, 6 December 2019.
Donations from clients, friends, business partners, Morgans staff and offices around Australia, have reached over $1 million in one day. Target achieved and still growing.
Brian Sheahan, Executive Chairman, with a message of thanks:
In 2018, Morgans launched its first 'Big Dry Friday' with the aim of creating awareness of the plight that many regional and rural Australians were facing at the hands of one of our most severe droughts.
A year later, the situation remains even more devastating, compounded by further adverse weather conditions and a real threat of bush fires in tinder dry areas.
This year, on Friday 6 December 2019, we are again inviting all Australians to reflect on the plight of our farmers and make a small contribution to their welfare. A donation could be an amount you would spend on a few Friday drinks, a meal, or a sporting match for example.
The Morgans Foundation and The Goldburg Family Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar all funds raised (capped at $350,000). The Morgans Institutional Team will also be donating its commission on Friday 6 December to the campaign.
All proceeds will be donated to Rural Aid, which is an Australian charity dedicated to supporting rural communities. This decision was made following consultation with farmers who said that gift cards would be highly valued and appreciated. Rural Aid are able to facilitate this request and have a national presence.

Wayne Thomson, Rural Aid
Wayne Thomson, General Manager of Rural Aid, outlines the issues our rural communities are facing and has some heart-wrenching stories to tell:
Thank you to all who participated last year to raise an outstanding $775,000 for our farmers. This money was donated to Aussie Helpers, AHVISE (via Aussie Helpers) and Drought Angels.
We are hoping to do even better this year. Every dollar makes a difference.
All donations are tax deductible.
Remember: No farmers, No food!
