Morgans 40 year anniversary

Morgans 40-year Anniversary

When Morgans opened its doors for business on 1st October 1982, Malcolm Fraser was Australia’s Prime Minister, Telstra and the Commonwealth Bank were unlisted and dividend imputation was years away.

From modest beginnings as a stockbroker in Brisbane, Morgans now provide a full range of wealth management services nationally, helping our clients protect, manage and grow their wealth.

A lot has changed in that 40 years. Australians have endured the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, watched the rise of the Asian economies and seen their lives and businesses transformed by the internet.

Right through this changing financial landscape, Morgans has been there, earning the trust of our clients. Today, we’ve grown to 59 offices across Australia with more than 500 advisers on the ground helping clients secure their financial future. We’ve been involved in many of Australia’s most successful capital raisings and listings from Crocodile Dundee, Suncorp-Metway to Australia’s major privatisations and many household brands.

In addition to servicing clients, the Morgans Foundation was established in 2005 with the intention of creating a positive impact in the community. The Foundation has donated $13.6m to charities since inception.

Today, Morgans is Australia’s largest full-service stockbroking and wealth management network and we’re preparing for the next 40 years.

“Our focus will be on investing in our people to combine the strengths we have in financial advice with emerging technology to make sure we are relevant to the next generation,” Chief Executive Officer John Clifford said.

“Whatever tomorrow brings, we’re as invested in the future as our clients are,” Clifford said.
