Josephine Little – Asia's Best Analyst: Australia

Josephine LittleMorgans is delighted to acknowledge the notable achievement by Josephine Little, Senior Analyst, who has been ranked Australia's number one stock picker by the Wall Street Journal.

Josephine top scored with 82.88% out of 251 analysts across Australia.

The rankings were based on recommendations and performances for 2012 and scores were calculated based on estimated total return. This included price changes and dividends of each eligible stock an analyst covered in an industry or country/region.

Josephine's top calls in 2012 included the auto retailers AP Eagers and Automotive Holdings. Josephine also covers the small and mid-cap retailers including Super Retail Group, Kathmandu, Oroton Group and Domino's Pizza.

Josephine contributes her successful calls to constant feedback with unlisted industry participants, site visits and importantly testing the products whether it include pizza, fishing rods or sportswear. Josephine says that "you have to be diligent and constantly check all channels rather than just listening to what the company is telling you".

What is her key pick for 2013? While the retailers have collectively re-rated strongly year-to-date, she believes Kathmandu continues to lag the pack on a valuation perspective and expects this discount will continue to narrow over the balance of 2013.

Josephine's accolade adds further to the award winning research team, which coupled with our Australian Alliance Partner, CIMB, has Australia's largest equities research coverage with around 300 companies researched by around 50 analysts.
